Initiation Major U7 Mites
Welcome Mites (U7) Parents!
Welcome and/or welcome back to Cranbrook Minor Hockey!
*For children born in 2014 (Must be 6 on or before Dec 31st 2020)
*Full hockey gear is required with the exception of a mouth guard although it is recommended
-Helmet (labelled with last name on it; as simple as a piece of tape and a sharpie works!)
-Water bottle -with extended spout is very helpful so they can hydrate through their helmet as they cannot be removed on the ice.
It is a good idea to label their gear
*Hockey socks and jerseys will be provided at the beginning of the season. Socks are yours to keep but JERSEYS NEED TO BE RETURNED TO YOUR MANAGER at the end of the season. Any name banners added need to be removed. If the jersey is lost or damaged you may be required to pay for the replacement.
*The season typically starts at the beginning of October and ends beginning to mid March. Games and tournaments are not permitted until after Dec 1st.
*After December 1st exhibition games can be booked against other CMHA mites teams and out of town teams. Games will be booked by coaches/managers and information forwarded to the parents as available. Any additional cost for ice rental will be the responsibility of the hosting team.
*Parents are expected to volunteer for clock/score keeping as needed
*Teams can participate in TWO out of town tournaments per season. They do not host a home tournament. Tournaments will be decided by coaches/managers and information will be forwarded to the parents as available. The cost for tournaments varies and is separate from initial registration fees.
*Typically there are 1-2 ice times per week. Days and times will be decided prior to the beginning of each season when number of kids and teams is determined
*If you are interested in volunteering as a coach please see our 'Coaches Corner' section for the requirements
*If you are interested in volunteering as a team manager, please connect with your coach or the Initiation Division Head at email@example.com
*Coaches and managers will use TeamSnap to communicate to parents and players. Downloading this free app is recommended.
Remember, FUN is the name of the game!
HAVE A GREAT SEASON!
