Cranbrook Minor Hockey Registration Instructions for the 2025/2026 Season

Please read carefully before making your selection :
If your child is U11 or older and wishes to try out for a REP team (whether Regional or Bucks), you will need to click on and add the tryout fee of $120.00.
If your child does not make a REP team, then the difference between the recreation registration fee and the rep registration fee will be reimbursed (not the $120 tryout fee which is Non-Refundable).
If your child is trying out for the REGIONAL U15 or U18 Program, you still need to register with CMHA, or whoever their home association is, and pay the tryout fee and competitive registration fee. This ensures that, should your child not make the regional team, they can still try out for the Bucks teams.
If you want your child to be considered for a B team or a development team, they still must participate in tryouts, but at the time of tryouts you can declare for a B team only etc
Please note that we also expect to have a U15 and U18 Tier 3 teams this year, as long as the registration numbers are sufficient enough to allow it. ****If you want your child to be considered for a tier 3 team, you must sign up for tryouts and pay the tryout fee by May 31, 2025.
For out of town players who make a rep team, CMHA will then commence the transfer and will collect the full registration fee at that time.
We realize that there are lots of new parents to the rep program every year and that it can be confusing.

IMPORTANT: Please note that TRYOUT REGISTRATION MUST BE SUBMITTED BY MAY 31st, 2025
Anyone that wishes to register after May 31, 2025 will be required to pay a $250.00 penalty, in addition to the $120 tryout fee and competative registration fee. There will be no exceptions
FOR RECREATION/HOUSE HOCKEY
Recreational registration deadline will be December 1st 2025. After that time, requests to register will be considered on a case by case basis.
Although there are no preseason deadlines to register for rec leageus, we enocuage everyone to register as soon as possible. The earlier you register the easier it is for our association to make plans for the season and the amount of teams and ice times.
We do offer a payment plan upon checkout, and the earlier you sign up the more time you have to split your payments. All fees must be paid by Nov 30th.
STEP BY STEP REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
Step One: Obtaining/creating your player(s) Hockey Canada Registration # (HCR#)
*If this is your child's first ever year in hockey anywhere (meaning they have never been registered in hockey in any association) .......they won't have a HCR#, please email the registrar at cranbrookminorhockey@gmail.com and she will get them registered with Hockey Canada and provide you with their HCR #. In your email, please include your child's full name, date of birth, as well as the parents address, phone numbers and email addresses.
**If you are registering a player that has been previously registered in hockey anywhere - they will alreayd have a HCR #. If CMHA was their prevoius assocation, you can find their HCR number on your Teamsnap account from previous registration
***If you are registering a child that has played before but not with CMHA... they will also alreayd have a HCR # but it may not be saved in TeamSnap so you'll need to look it up. This can be found through the Hockey Canada account.Please also email our registrar at cranbrookminorhockey@gmail.com so she can initiate the transfer to our association.
If you do not already have an account with Hockey Canada you will need to create one and then add each player individually.
To find the HCR # for players who already have one, click on the link and follow the steps below. (as noted above the # should be saved on the TeamSnap registration so you likely won't need to look this up unless they only been registered outside of CMHA)

1) On the top right, click ‘Login’
2) Under the login box, click ‘Sign Up’
3) Follow the prompts to create your account
4) Once your account is created and your are logged in, click on the person icon on the top right of the screen
5) On the left hand side menu, click ‘Dashboard’. From here you can add the participants (players and coaches) for your family by clicking ‘Link a Member’

****If your child is new or inexperienced in hockey and you feel they are not ready to join their age group, please ask our registrar about options to play down an age group.

- Rep try out fees of $120 are due by May 31st and are non refundable once tryouts begin.
- Late registrations for Rep Try Outs will be charged an additional $250 penalty after May 31st
- Baseline concussion testing fees are included for U11, U13, U15 and U18 rep.
- Payment plans will be offered online through TeamSnap with an initial payment due at time or registering. All other fees must be paid in full by November 30th
