We just wanted to send out a few housekeeping notes in regards to COVID protocols and what is expected of our membership as we move in to the 2021-2022 minor hockey season.
As of currently (Sept 13th 2021) all rinks in Cranbrook and Kimberley have a 50 person limit on spectators. These numbers must be maintained by a person on each corresponding team. This allows for 2 parents to watch per child for practices, and only 1 parent to watch for games.
All rinks in Cranbrook and Kimberely will also require masks to be worn by everyone over the age of 12.
Social distancing protocols will also need to be followed by everyone in the rink. This means only members of the same household can sit togehter in the stands.
In regards to showing proof of vaccine, we have confirmed it will not be required for the youth sport players 12-21 years of age.
Spectators at indoor youth sporting events are also not required to show proof of vaccination with less than 50 people spectating.
Therefore, as of right now, proof of vaccine is not necessary at the rinks.
When we are allowed to increase to more than 50 spectators, we will advise of the new protocols at that time.
Additionally, please make sure to follow all Provincial Health Orders and directions from Interior Health if you have been exposed to a positive case or are showing any symptoms.
This is imperative to our program being able to run all year and keeping all of our teammates healthy so we can enjoy a "normal"season and back to the game we love.
Anyone that is feeling unwell is asked to stay at home until their symptoms subside. Thank you for your continued support, understanding and kindness as we navigate these crazy times!!
